Peters Associates started with a Navy veteran who knew refrigeration systems inside and out. Founder Edwin L. Peters spent World War II at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, installing and testing refrigeration systems on U.S. warships. When he came home, he opened a domestic refrigerator repair shop. His son John joined in 1954 after completing a heating and air conditioning technical course at Spring Garden Institute under the G.I. Bill, making him the second Navy veteran in the founding family. A third generation took over in 1999, carrying the same standards forward.
