Insulating the hot water heater- will reduce standby heat lost though the walls of the tank by 25-40%,saving 4-9% on your water heating bills.

Insulating the hot water pipes- will reduce losses as the hot water is flowing to your faucet and more importantly, it will reduce standby losses when the tap is turned off and then back on within an hour or so. A great deal of energy and water is wasted waiting for the hot water reach the tap.

Cleaning the coils- on your central air conditioning or heat pump units  grease and dirt  forms an insulation making your unit work harder and eventually could result in parts failure. Certainly it increases your utility bills.

Programmable thermostats- by installing a programmable thermostat you control the times the unit operates. Setting the timer for sleep, wake and when you are at work will dramatically save on operation by remembering when you want the unit to work and when you don’t.  There is a device that you can control remotely either by phone or on the Internet, to tell your equipment time.

Hot water heater timer- there is little need for your hot water heater to keep water hot when you won’t be using it when your sleeping or at work. When you go on vacation set the time to off and program a time to come on for when you arrive home.
